Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about getting involved

How can I donate to Kawama Widows and Orphans Project?

You can donate through our WhatsApp line by clicking any of the donation buttons on this page. We accept mobile money transfers (Zambia), bank transfers, and in-kind donations of food, clothing, and educational materials. All donations receive official receipts for tax purposes.

What volunteer opportunities are available?

We offer both local volunteering at our Kawama community center and virtual volunteering opportunities. Local volunteers can help with teaching, childcare, administrative tasks, agriculture programs, and community outreach. Virtual volunteers can assist with online fundraising, social media management, grant writing, and remote administrative support.

How does child sponsorship work?

When you sponsor a child for ZMW 350 per month, you provide education supplies, school uniforms, nutritional support, healthcare access, and psychosocial support for an orphaned or vulnerable child. You'll receive updates about your sponsored child's progress and can communicate with them through our program coordinators.

What types of partnerships do you offer?

We partner with corporations for CSR initiatives, other NGOs for program collaboration, faith-based organizations for community outreach, and educational institutions for youth programs. Partnerships can include funding, technical assistance, employee volunteering, resource sharing, or co-implementing programs.

How are donations used and accounted for?

We maintain transparent financial systems with regular audits. 85% of donations directly support program activities, 10% goes to administrative costs, and 5% to fundraising. Detailed financial reports are available to partners and major donors upon request. We're registered under the Zambian Society Act and comply with all regulatory requirements.
